IN HIGHER EDUCATION
FOR WHOM?
A course offers a 30 hours long training for academic teachers from abroad who took a position at the UG and who do not have much experience in teaching at the university level or have not yet participated in any trainings in academic didactics in higher education. It will be run in a hybrid mode (12 h online and 18 h onsite workshops).
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The training aims at creating space to discuss the understanding of academic didactics as a specific way of teaching adult students. It will also provide an opportunity to expand knowledge on diverse teaching theories and let the participants find and define their teaching identity, their preferred teaching and learning strategies and make individual choices as to how to program lectures, classes or individual tutorials. The course will balance theoretical input with a lot of practical tasks and self-reflective discussions.

II Adult education at the university
III Strategies of teaching and learning, programming classes, methodology specific to various scientific disciplines
WHY IS IT WORTH TO PARTICIPATE?
Participation in the course offers a deep and professional reflection upon the importance and specificity of academic teaching methodology and ontology. Participants will have a chance to discuss theories, to exchange good practices with other colleagues and will also get acquainted with adequate strategies to program own courses and run them in agreement with own teaching identities. The course is recommended especially to those who do not feel confident enough to run their classes at a foreign university and need a sort of refreshment of their teaching skills in a new environment. It will also help those who are not yet much experienced in teaching and need support from mentors and experts in this matter.
